Who I Help
Life has felt heavier lately. You’ve been trying to keep up, but your mind won’t slow down and the weight of it all keeps creeping in. Maybe you’ve been holding everything together for far too long, or maybe you’re doing your best just to get through the day without crying in your car or Googling “is this burnout?” Either way, it feels like a lot.
For teens, emotions can feel louder than usual. Everything is overwhelming, confusing and hard to explain, especially when no one really gets what’s going on inside. Parents of teens, you may notice your teenagers mood is shifting, they are pulling away, not opening up to you and frustrated more often.
For adults, it often looks like pushing through and rarely slowing down. You might be high functioning on the outside, but drained underneath. Overthinking, constantly “on” and unsure how to rest without feeling guilty about it. You might also be feeling like…
-
You try to stay busy and distracted. You doom scroll for hours or binge watch Netflix under the guise of “relaxing”. And for a little while it works, until your mind ignores all logic and jumps to the worst case scenario like it’s an Olympic sport. No matter how much you tell yourself to stop thinking this way, the thoughts creep back in. You feel disconnected from others and struggle to fully enjoy the moment, even when things are “supposed” to be good.
-
You’re used to being the reliable one. You make sure to keep everyone else okay and tell yourself you are fine, because that’s just what you do. You learned early on that your needs come second, and that being capable was safer than being vulnerable. When was the last time you let yourself be supported instead of being the one who supports everyone else?
-
You’re the giver, the fixer, the responsible one. You notice what needs to be done and step in before anyone else has to ask, and often before you even realize you are doing it. You take care of everyone else, and somehow end up carrying more than your share every single time. (Shocking, I know.)
-
You’re doing the things you’re supposed to do. Life looks okay on paper. But inside, something just feels off. You feel disconnected, restless, or not quite present, even on good days. You might not have the words for it, but you know this isn’t how you want to keep feeling. You just want to feel like yourself again.
-
Your emotions have been loud lately. Like, really loud. Small things feel big, your reactions surprise even you, and you’re one minor inconvenience away from tears or a total shutdown. You’re wondering if you are broken.
-
Your body has been trying to get your attention. Tight shoulders, low energy, tension headaches, a racing mind… all while you tell yourself you’re “fine”. Keep pushing through, powering up on caffeine, and hoping it’ll pass. Spoiler alert: your nervous system has other plans.
-
It feels like déjà vu. Different person, same dynamic. You tell yourself this time will be different, and somehow end up right back here. Again. Apparently your nervous system has a type. You notice the pattern now, which is progress, but you’re not sure how to actually change it.
When life feels like too much, it helps to have a steady place to land. A place to breathe, untangle what’s been building, and reconnect with yourself at your own pace. You’re not alone, and you're not failing.
You are exactly who Steady Place Therapy was made for.
What Therapy Looks Like Here
Therapy here isn’t about fixing you, because you’re not broken. It’s about helping you get back into the driver’s seat of your own life. It’s about meeting yourself with curiosity instead of judgement. We focus on awareness, choice, and learning to notice, pause and shift patterns instead of of being run by them.
Steady Place Therapy is a judgement free zone. You can show up exactly as you are.
Our work is collaborative and intentional. We take time to understand what’s beneath your symptoms, and move at a pace that supports your nervous system, rather than fighting it. You’ll get honest feedback, evidence-based tools, and grounded support.
I don’t fix people. I help people learn to lead themselves.
Therapy here goes beyond surface level coping skills.
Anyone can Google search a list of coping skills, but that’s not really why you’re here. Yes, we use practical tools and techniques when they’re helpful, but we don’t stop there. We also work on understanding and addressing what’s driving the patterns underneath, so you’re not just managing symptoms forever.
At Steady Place you’ll get:
Grounded, relational therapy that meets you where you are, not where you think you should be.
Direct, honest and kind feedback (no sugarcoating, always supportive, never cold).
A calming, cozy space designed to help you feel at ease.
A therapist who understands high-achieving people and the emotional toll of performing, producing, and pleasing.
A holistic and personalized approach that blends evidence-based tools with real conversations.
This is a place to slow down, breathe, and be real. Our work is grounded, collaborative, and human, with room for honesty, depth, and the occasional laugh (because therapy doesn’t always have to be so serious).
Services Snapshot
-
Support for teens dealing with anxiety, perfectionism, school and sports pressure, big emotions, and all the changes that come with growing up. Therapy offers a safe place to talk openly, feel understood, and build skills that work at school, at home, and in real life.
-
Compassionate, personalized therapy for adults experiencing anxiety, stress, grief, relationship challenges, or feeling disconnected from themselves. Sessions are relational and conversational, ideal for people who want depth and are ready to actively engage in the healing process.
-
Safe, trauma-informed care for individuals working through painful or overwhelming experiences. Using EMDR, parts work (Internal Family Systems), nervous-system–based approaches, and relational support, we focus on safety, stabilization, and helping your mind and body let go of what they’ve been holding onto, at a pace that feels steady and respectful.
-
A grounding, movement-based therapy option that blends traditional talk therapy with the calming benefits of walking outdoors. Ideal for people who think more clearly while moving, feel more at ease outside an office, or do their best processing somewhere between step one and step twenty.
-
Support for couples who care about each other, but feel stuck in the same conversations. Sessions focus on slowing things down, understanding both perspectives, and getting out of the cycle, not taking sides or keeping score.
-
A focused, extended-session option for deeper trauma work and meaningful progress. EMDR intensives allow time and space to work through stuck places with support and intention, without trying to cram healing into a standard 50-minute session.
-
Therapists go to grad school to learn how to do therapy. Unfortunately, most programs don’t teach how to run a business—yet it’s a critical skill for anyone who wants to be in private practice.
I’ve always enjoyed and excelled in the business side of my work, and I’m passionate about helping other therapists build confidence in their business skills.
Coming soon: Business and consultation support for therapists. This space will focus on clarity, confidence, and building practices that actually support the people running them.
Who You’re Working With
Hi, I’m Ally — and I believe therapy should feel real, honest and human. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with people who carry a lot, think and feel deeply, and want to live a more fulfilling life. My work is grounded and relational, with a strong focus on nervous system regulation and helping people feel steady again.
I believe the relationship between therapist and client matters so much. Therapy works best when you feel comfortable, safe and genuinely connected to the person you’re working with.
I support teens, adults, and couples who feel overwhelmed or are navigating challenging experiences. Whether that looks like anxiety, stress, old trauma showing up again, or just a sense that something feels off. If any of that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.
I bring 6+ years of clinical practice experience into the room, alongside a background in clinical leadership and business development. I understand pressure, responsibility, and burnout — not just personally, but systemically. Therapy with me is supportive, thoughtful, and real. No performing. No pretending.
Just steady work, done together.
